Bells
The little bay roan mare began to become conscious again. Struggling to see nothing but darkness. She knew she was surrounded by land, but could see nothing, besides the burning glow of black. She knew she had been changed, somehow her body seemed to surge with power and the urge to run in great speed. Worse, not knowing what has happened she hears buzzing noises in her head, like she is surrounded by talking, but she knows that's not possible, for she can feel the body heat of anything with blood. The young mare begins to get clearer vision, seeing things she thought never to be able to see. When the darkness faded away she found she was on a beach. She can tell that others have been her, it seems to be a popular travel area, from horses and humans. She peers down below her to see the sand. Amazingly, she can pin-point ever grain of sand. She feels the power surging through her body. She feels compelled to test this, she wants to know what has happened. Though, afraid of being hurt, her curiosity gets her to try the unthinkable. She saunters over to a unusually, thick, palm tree. Swing her head the the side, she moves her head with all her force tothe trees side. With a loud crack the tress snaps and falls to the ground.
Amazing...
She was right, she is unimaginably strong. Now to test the speed. The beach was long enough, it seemed it should take her a total of 1 hour to fill the length if she were to run at a regular pace.
Yes, this is how I shall test my speed.
She let out a loud whinny and broke off to run. She watched the end of the beach approaching. She saw everything in perfect clarity. She finished the run in 2 minutes.
How...?
That's when it caught her. The amazing smell, and heat, of the one thing that could immensely overwhelm her. She caught the scent of a human, with thick blood running through their veins. She was confused, she didn't know what to make of this yet. She loped slowly (for her) to find the scent. She found a small clearing where she saw a human approaching. She let out an amazingly loud, angry whinny and began to run in the opposite direction. Yes, she knew now. She knew that she may have amazing strength and speed but she would give it all back for what now confound her. The thirst for blood overwhelmed her. She knew she wasn't safe for people and horses to be around.
There must be another of my kind. How could I be the only one? No, I won't believe it!
She continued to wander, looking for another who may now be an appealing meal. She soon stopped.
No, I can't roam. What would happen? What if I ran into another good person? What if I hurt them?
She knew she couldn't roam. She laid down, hoping, only that, maybe, there would be another of her with the same want, but not so much discipline, that may find her. She had very little hope. Soon, though, she would have to give in and quench her thirst. She could only do so much, for so long.
